If you have a dog, like me, you may be hesitant in planting a garden knowing that your pup will probably get into it. Hanging pots are the perfect solution to that problem! I don’t know about you, but when I buy herbs or veggies to plant, I want to make sure that I’m going to use them in my cooking. So, I decided I would plant a Salsa garden, all three ingredients I can use when making salsa! All out of reach of my cute dog Buffy.
To Build the Hanging Salsa Garden I bought a Metal Hanging Basket Tree, three hanging pot containers, Small Potting soil for Fruits and Veggies, 2 jalapeno plants, 2 cilantro plants, and 1 Patio Tomato Plant.
The Jalapenos, Cilantro and the Tomato plant will all be in separate pots. Fill the pots a little over halfway with potting soil.
Starting with the patio tomato, dig a large hole in the middle and pack it down with your hands, covering the root fully with dirt. The patio tomato is perfect for small spaces and hanging pots.
I chose to only put one tomato plant in the pot so it has room to grow.
Second pot is the Jalapenos. Dig 2 holes instead of 1 about five inches apart. Pack it down with dirt…
Do the same with the last pot for the cilantro…
Give them a little bit of water and it’s time to hang them! I got a metal hanging arm tree and just put it in a spot among my flowers and hung them up, tomatoes in the middle.
A perfect little salsa garden that your dog won’t be able to get into.
